Overlap summary of transcription factor ChIP-seq binding peaks across available data sets

Description

These tracks display, for each transcription factor, the probability of observing binding, based on the available ChIP-seq data sets.

Display Conventions and Configuration

The signal tracks are displaying the proportion (between 0 and 1) of data sets reporting a peak at each location.

Transcription factor tracks are coloured in gold, with the exception of CTCF, which is coloured in blue due to its known functions as an insulator and chromatin architecture regulator and its inclusion in the genome segmentation.

Methods

Publicly available human transcription factor ChIP-seq data sets were obtained, including from the ENCODE and Roadmap Epigenomics Projects. All data was remapped and peak called using the Ensembl Epigenomic Alignment and Peak Calling Pipeline.

For every transcription factor, the probability of having binding at any position, based on the available data sets was calculated as

number of overlapping peaks / number of data sets
