Evidence: Results obtained by immunochemistry (Fig. 6) showed that nicotine-differentiated NHBE cells presented strong nuclear NF-kB (RELA) staining, while control cells show prevalent cytoplasmic staining. This translocation occurred as early as 1 h after nicotine addition and was blocked by pre-treatment with inhibitors of the nAChR, such as mecamylamine or ?-bungarotoxin.
